SNAFFU is the oldest SF club in Las Vegas, and is primarily a literary-oriented club, though we also discuss SF in general, from films to TV to fandom.
Please join us for Aug. 31 (Sun) 2-4pm in the Large Conference Room of the Clark County Library at 1401 E Flamingo Rd in Las Vegas (just east of Maryland Parkway). Topic will be: "Mythical Beasts, Mythologies, and Mythos." A special surprise short video will also be shown. From H.P. Lovecraft's Chululu, to the dragons of Pern, to Tolkien's recreation of European mythical creatures such as elves, trolls, etc., stories and novels have focused on their own unique Mythos(s) and have created unique mythological creatures." The meeting will include science and fan news, general chitchat, and some more DVDs and other items will be given away as well. There is no business meeting and no dues. Open to all.
