Happening today, Sunday, August 31:

• Anime Vegas convention continues at the Renaissance Hotel at 3400 Paradise Road in Las Vegas.
• SNAFFU, the science fiction book club, is meeting at 2 PM at the Clark County Library at 1401 E. Flamingo Rd. in Las Vegas to discuss "Mythologies, Mythical Creatures, and Mythos."
• The USS R'uustai club wraps up volunteering for the Jerry Lewis telethon and saying goodbye to Star Trek: the Experience.
• The local Society for Creative Anachronism chapter will have rapier practice at 8 AM and armored combat at 10 AM in the southwest corner of Lorenzi Park.
